What is iOS ?

iOS (previously iPhone OS) is a mobile operating system developed and distributed by Apple Inc. for its iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch devices. It is based on the company’s macOS (formerly known as Mac OS X) and provides a similar user interface, including a desktop-like dock and a hierarchical file system. iOS also includes features such as support for multitouch gestures, integration with Apple’s virtual personal assistant, Siri, and access to the App Store, which has over 2 million iOS apps.
